Embed plates are an essential part of the construction industry and can be used anytime steel needs to be joined to a concrete panel or slab. An embed is a fixture, a metal product that is installed before concrete is poured. They are anchors in concrete that are used to transfer structural loads through tension, shear, or a combination thereof. Steel embeds are primarily used as connections to structural steel frames, facade and curtain wall systems, elevator guides, and steel or prefabricated stairs. In a precast site, embeds are set into columns, beams, double tees, and other miscellaneous items.
